Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker, PAAM's President-Elect, was in Lansing Wednesday to testify before the House Judiciary Committee and chat about PAAM's role and the work of prosecutors across Michigan. Prosecutor Becker says legislative priorities for PAAM are continued opposition to changes in Michigan's Truth in Sentencing law, quicker testing for mental health competency, and more equitable funding for prosecutors' offices, with the common threads tying those issues together being serving victims and the cause of justice.

One of the highlights of being Prosecutor is the interaction with students. Last week I participated in the Lincoln Elementary Career Day, yesterday was the CTC Mock Trial, and in two weeks will be the Mackinaw Trail Middle School Career Day.
