District wide open house is tonight! First day of school is this Thursday.

We hope you have had a wonderful summer break! Our first day of school will be Thursday, August 18th.

Save the Date: We will be having a District-Wide Open House on Tuesday, Aug 16th from 5-7pm.

The Byron Masonic Lodge is teaming with the Byron PTA to host a ‘Meet the Eagle’ Hot Dog Dinner Fundraiser at the Mason Lodge from 4-7:30pm. Stop in to meet the Byron Eagle and have a quick dinner, it’s for a great cause! (More information in attached image)

—High School families- Schedules and back to school information was emailed out to families last week.

—Middle School families- Middle School Schedules will be emailed out on Thursday August 11th at 4pm. Our Teachers will have supply lists on a per class basis available during the open house or the first day of school for students. At Open House students will be able to access their lockers at that time. Forms for medications, social work services, bussing, and other information will be available at Open House as well.

—Elementary families- A Welcome Back email was sent out this past week and class lists have been posted outside of the Elementary office doors.

I’m excited to announce my 2022 candidacy for the Byron Area Schools Board of Education.

For those that don’t know me. I live in Byron with my wife Tracy, daughter Charlotte & son Drew.

I grew up in Gaines and was active in the community. I was a volunteer firefighter for the Gaines Community Fire Department & was an Emergency Medical Technician with DVA Ambulance, working both the Durand & Swartz Creek bases.

I was also a Trustee on the Village of Gaines Council.

I’ve been involved in Cub Scouts as a Den Leader as well as a Cubmaster.

I served as a board member for the Byron Area Athletic Association for several years.

I enjoy working with the youth in our community and I’m committed to working with our community for the future of our youth.
