In observance of Labor Day, Town Hall, Administration, and Court will be closed.

While others are taking a well-deserved day off, our officers and dispatchers are still on duty and ready to serve our community.

So here are a few friendly reminders:

🚗 Slow down. The cookout will still be there when you arrive.

🚦 Obey the laws. Just because Court is closed doesn’t mean the laws are on vacation too.

👀 Be on your BEST behavior. Choose a designated driver, it could save a life.

🍔 Enjoy the food, enjoy the family, enjoy the long weekend… just don’t turn your Labor Day weekend into a future court date!

💙 Honoring Courage & Selfless Service 💙

Last night we had the honor of recognizing Sergeant Eric Welch and Sergeant Dylan Tilley for their extraordinary courage during an active shooter incident.

Through their quick actions, willingness to put themselves in harm’s way, and dedication to protecting others, the lives of three citizens were saved.

Their actions are a powerful reminder of what it means to serve and protect a community where every second matters.

Mayor Don Hollingsworth and Interim Chief William Carter were honored to present these well-deserved awards in recognizing our Sergeants, Welch and Tilley, for their actions that day.

Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Welch and Sergeant Tilley. We are proud of their service, their courage, and their commitment to the citizens we serve. 🇺🇸💙

Meet the Team Behind the Badge. It is a chance for our community to get to know the people behind the uniforms a little better.

Each Wednesday, we will introduce a member of the Byhalia Police Department and share a few fun facts about them. We hope this gives our community a chance to put a name and a personality with the badge or voice.

Byhalia Police Department and Byhalia Fire & Rescue are teaming up for an afternoon of fun! 🚒💙

Bring the kids out on September 12th at 3:00 PM at Fire Station #2 for an EPIC Water Balloon Battle between our firefighters and police officers! 👮‍♂️🚒💦

And yes… the kids get to join in too! 😎

Come ready to get soaked and have some fun with the first responders in our community!

We are currently experiencing difficulties with the phone lines. Dispatch is attempting to return calls using the numbers shown on Caller ID. However, the system is not allowing Dispatch to answer or connect the calls properly.

This issue is only affecting non-emergency and office calls. For all emergencies, please continue to call 911 as usual.

We will make an update as soon as the issue has been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
