🌟 **Volunteer Appreciation Day – June 18, 2026** 🌟

A heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who joined us for this morning’s Annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast. Your dedication, kindness, and countless hours of service make a tremendous difference in the lives of Bourne’s older adults and our community as a whole. We would also like to thank our honored guests, State Representative, David Vieira, Selectboard Member, MJ Mastrangelo, and Emily from the office of State Senator, Dylan Fernandes, for joining us in recognizing the invaluable contributions of our volunteers. A special thank you to Michael LeBrun, Executive Director of Cape Cod Senior Residences, for generously providing the delicious breakfast. And congratulations to this year’s **Senior Volunteer of the Year**, **Jay Enos**! πŸŽ‰

🌞 Stay Safe in the Heat! 🌞

Hot weather can be especially dangerous for older adults. Follow these simple tips to stay healthy and comfortable during hot days:

πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

🏠 Stay indoors in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible, especially between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

πŸ‘• Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.

β˜€οΈ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.

🧒 Use sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses when outdoors.

πŸ‰ Eat light meals and enjoy foods with high water content like fruits and vegetables.

πŸ“ž Check on family, friends, and neighbors, especially those who live alone.

⚠️ Know the warning signs of heat-related illness: dizziness, headache, nausea, rapid pulse, confusion, or excessive sweating. Seek medical attention immediately if symptoms become severe.

Remember: When temperatures rise, taking precautions can save lives. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay connected! πŸ’™

Another fantastic Country BBQ today! πŸŽΆπŸ”πŸŒ

A huge thank you to our incredible Bridge Crew for all of their hard work in making today's event such a success. From setup to cleanup, their dedication and teamwork helped create a wonderful afternoon for everyone who attended.

We were also thrilled to welcome musical guest Matt York, whose outstanding performance was made possible through the Massachusetts Cultural Grant Program. His music provided the perfect soundtrack for a great day of food, friends, and community.

Thank you to everyone who joined usβ€”we look forward to seeing you at our next event! πŸŽ΅β˜€οΈπŸ€
