Gosnold and TS Patriot State had a busy drill Saturday . Along with their regular classes they go a tour of a Coast Guard Buoy Tender that was docked near by . The Honor Guard did an outstanding job with the opening ceremonies of the Junior Mixed Double National Curling Championship held in Falmouth last week (Note the event was held prior to the new directive from Headquarters).

Gosnold Divsion and Training Ship Patriot State held their Winter Awards Ceremony in December. It started with a performance of the Silent Drill Team lead by SN Lincoln Renaud , the Silent Drill Team Captain . It was followed by a slide show presentation of all the pictures of the cadets that were taken over the year. We had 3 brand new cadets being sworn in , had 4 promotions and SN Christopher Morrrison ( Gosnold ) and Able Cadet Jason Anderson were chosen as Cadet of the year for their perspective units. The cadets in both units did an amazing job through out the year and looking forward to see what they accomplish in 2026

Today Gosnold Divsion provided an Honor Guard at the Town of Yarmouth Veterans Day Service . Cadets Hayley McCarthy , Robert Wilson, Stephen and Chris Morison did an outstanding job !!! There were many compliments from the veterans on their uniform and professionalism .

To all the Veterans out there Thank You for your Service . 🇺🇸

On November 9th, Gosnold and Training Ship Patriot State hosted the Annual Regional Swim Meet . All cadets were amazing and swam their hardest . A big shout out to the Micheal J. Murphy Division coming all the way from Long Island to participate in the swim meet .

It has been very busy couple of months for Gosnold and Training Ship Patriot State. We provide assistant and an information both at the Plymouth Air Show in September. We had a former Gosnold Sea Cadets now Massachusetts State Trooper Micheal Gagnon come and give a lacture about the State Police . Lastly the cadets had to do their biannual PT test which they all did an outstanding job !!!

On August 2nd , Gosnold and Training Ship Patriot participated in a ceremony at the Coast Guard Museum in Barnstable . Cadets provided and a Honor Guard with folding the National Ensign .

Oh boy , I got really behind over the past two months. I didn’t post any pictures of our time helping Cape Cod Care for the Troops and our Spring Award Ceremony. The cadets finished the year strong !! Congratulations to Chief Travis , Chief Harding, and RC Kilty on their Graduation from HighSchool and Sea Cadets . Fair winds and following seas shipmates .

Alumni update !!!!

Zachary Dias (picture ) . Zachary graduated from Sea Cadets early 2000’s and went to Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He graduatedte from there and went to sea with the Military Sea Command . After many year of service and sea time , he took on a role of instructor back at his Alma mater Mass Maritime Academy and rejoined Gosnold Division as an instrutor . This past April Zachary was just sworn into the US Navy as an Ensign ….

William Burr ( picture ) . Cadet Burr graduated 2023 and just enlisted into the U.S. Army with very high marks. His goal is to join the Special Forces .

Hogan Anderson. Cadet Anderson graduated last year. He received his appointment to Annapolis and he will start this summer as a pleb.

To all three … Bravo Zulu !!!

It is time once again to get everyone caught up with Gosnold and Training Ship Patriot State. In May , both divisions and a few guest cadets from other units got underway aboard the Mass Maritime School Sailingship SSV Ernestina-Morrissey. The cadet learned about navigation, knots, buoyancy , and part of the sailing ship. They help raised the sails and get us moving without power. One side note, the winds were moving that day ( and so were we ) and the cadets were instructed to removed their covers so they would not get blown overboard.
