AUP INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHT

Through the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary University Program (AUP), students have opportunities to gain valuable exposure to both the Coast Guard Auxiliary and active-duty U.S. Coast Guard.

AUP internship and training opportunities allow students to step beyond the classroom, experience Coast Guard missions firsthand, work alongside active-duty personnel and Auxiliarists, and gain a better understanding of Coast Guard careers, operations, and service.

From aviation and afloat operations to public affairs, prevention, response, and other mission areas, AUP provides students with opportunities to explore the Coast Guard while developing leadership, professionalism, and practical experience.

⚓ **AUP GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT | FROM AUP TO THE FLEET** 🇺🇸

Meet **ENS Sam Stein**, a **Massachusetts Maritime Academy AUP alumnus** and member of the **Class of 2025**!

During his time in the **U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary University Program (AUP)**, ENS Stein served as a **Unit Leader**, gaining leadership experience while preparing for his future in the Coast Guard.

Today, he is serving on active duty as a **Deck Watch Officer (DWO)** aboard **USCGC MOHAWK** in Key West, Florida. He has also qualified as one of the cutter’s **Landing Signals Officers (LSO)**.

ENS Stein’s journey highlights where the AUP experience can lead. Through **leadership opportunities, professional development, and exposure to the active-duty Coast Guard**, AUP gives college students the opportunity to learn more about Coast Guard service while building skills they can carry into their future careers.
