Join us for an "Auto Safari" of the Tule Elk State Natural Reserve on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 10:00am. The tour consists of a brief presentation on the history of the tule elk herd, followed by a tour of the visitor center, and a guided tour of the reserve to view the magnificent tule elk. Bring binoculars to view the wildlife at the reserve.
Admission is FREE for California State Parks Adventure Pass holders. Fourth graders and their families can sign up for a FREE Adventure Pass at https://www.parks.ca.gov/AdventurePass.

If you’re looking for the tule elk on the Reserve during these hot summer days, look under the Cottonwood trees at the west end of the wetlands near the overlook platform. The tule elk frequently are found sitting next to the water.

Join us for the Tule Elk Jamboree Art in Parks Festival on Friday, June 12! Visitors will participate in hands-on arts and crafts activities at the Tule Elk State Natural Reserve. Tours of the Tule Elk State Natural Reserve will also be provided throughout the day to highlight the beauty of nature and its influence in self-expression through art. Enjoy trying hands-on activities like learning to paint on canvas, drawing a bird or other animal, making a leather bookmark, painting a birdhouse, coloring an animal mask, and much more. All ages are welcome!

All events are offered free of charge to the public. However, park day-use fees apply ($8 per car). Please register for this event at https://castateparksweek.org/
