Flint Energies Foundation awards Taylor County Police Departments $16,500
The Flint Energies Foundation has awarded a total of $16,500 in grants to support the safety and wellbeing of local law enforcement.
Butler Police Department received $8,300 to purchase bulletproof vests, providing critical protection for officers as they serve and protect the community. The Reynolds Police Department was awarded $8,200 to upgrade its gym equipment, promoting physical fitness and mental wellbeing to enhance overall job performance.
Flint Energies Foundation supports the safety and health of the men and women who keep our communities secure. Investing in both protective gear and wellness resources ensures officers are equipped to perform their duties effectively and safely.
The Flint Energies Foundation provides grants to local non-profits such as this one using money donated by Flint Energies Consumer-members through Operation Round Up®. The electric cooperative’s Members contribute $175,000 annually to the Flint Energies Foundation, which supports worthy causes in the 17 counties it serves. Operation Round Up is a way for participating Members to support multiple charitable organizations by simply allowing Flint Energies to round up their bills to the nearest dollar. Donations to Operation Round Up, which average only about $6 per year per member, are tax deductible. About 40% of Flint’s Membership participates in Operation Round Up, but that percentage continues to decline. If you are a Flint Energies Consumer-member and wish to contribute, you can sign up at www.flintenergies.com/ORU or by calling 1.800.342.3616.
The Flint Energies Foundation, a state-chartered, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, disburses all contributions to approved projects; Member contributions are not used for administration costs. Stolen vehicle recovered in Potterville!

On 12/18/2025, Butler Police Department received reports of a stolen vehicle being within the city limits of Butler. After a joint investigation with the BPD, it was determined the vehicle had been towed by the use of another vehicle from Columbus, GA. The use of Flock determined an address that both vehicles would possibly be at in Potterville. Deputy Leduc was then notified and made contact at the residence where both vehicles were located!

Thank you to the Butler Police Department for the mutual aid!
