A few reminders:
Please make sure you have updated your mailing address with our ASSESSOR'S OFFICE. If you have moved we have no way of knowing. The post office doesn't share change of addresses, so even if you changed it there you still need to come in or call to change it in our building.
Assessment Sheets have to be filled out every single year. They can't assume. Please make sure you have filled one out and sent back in. 2 year tag options get a lot of people.....you must pay taxes every year. They are payable without penalty & interest Nov. 1st-Dec. 31st. Yes you can wait until you get tags just remember the penalty & interest keep accuring.
Senior Tax Credit applications are no longer available. Deadline has passed, so you will have to wait till next years sign up to participate. This is done Feb-April in the County Clerk's Office.
Tax Sale will be August 24th at 10 a.m. We will not have a list of properties until the middle of July. We are working hard to contact people, because with the postal service having issues we want to try everything we can to notify. We will publish the list with MidAmerica Review starting July 15th.
And the BEST news is we are FINALLY starting the software update. The first office to update will be the Assessor's Office, so its still a bit before our office updates. Its taking time, but with all the postivie vibes we hope it will all work out and be up and going before this years tax time. Lots of challenges to face with this project, but it will improve our ability to provide even better customer service. New anything is exciting, but stressful learning an all new way of doing things. We look forward to the challenge though and can't wait to provide online options in the future. As we progress I'll do more updates.
