Ashley-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Butler Fire Department and Eastside High School / Eastside FFA Chapter for inviting us to assist with the Grain Bin Rescue demonstrations during the Community Farm Safety Workshop as part of National FFA Week.
Farm safety is critical in our rural communities, and grain bin emergencies are some of the most dangerous incidents responders can face. Taking the time to educate students, families, and community members on the realities of grain entrapment—and the specialized rescue techniques required—helps build awareness that can truly save lives.
We are proud to stand alongside Butler Fire Department in demonstrating proper rescue procedures, equipment use, and the importance of prevention. It was inspiring to see Eastside FFA members continuing to grow as leaders while investing in the safety of their agricultural community.
Strong partnerships between schools, fire departments, and community organizations make Steuben and DeKalb Counties safer and more prepared.
Thank you again for the opportunity to serve, teach, and learn together.
