The City of Butler was founded in 1841, although not named Butler until the time of the Civil War in 1866. The City of Butler is pleased to announce its sponsorship of a Memorial Day Parade. Initially requested to accommodate decorated golf carts and side-by-side vehicles to be escorted to the cemetery, we have expanded participation to include any decorated vehicle, wagon, bicycle, motorcycle, or horse. All participants are invited to gather at the Butler American Legion at 10:00 a.m. The parade will depart promptly at 10:30 a.m. for the cemetery, where a Memorial Day service will commence at 11:00 a.m. For parade-related inquiries, please contact Mayor Mike Hartman at 260-908-0109.
