Butler Officers responded to 263 calls for service between March 14th and March 26th.
87 traffic stops were conducted during this same time period.
Notable Incidents:
On March 17th, officers observed suspicious behavior near an area of known drug activity and conducted a traffic stop on a related vehicle at N. 125th St. and W. Hampton Ave. A K9 officer was requested for the traffic stop, and the K9 alerted to the car. A search of the vehicle and driver revealed co***ne, fentanyl, a loaded 10mm handgun, and cash. The suspect was arrested and has been charged by the District Attorney’s Office with Possession with Intent to Deliver Co***ne, Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, Felony Bail Jumping, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. At the time of this offense, the suspect was out on bail in Milwaukee County for six separate felony charges.
On March 19th, an officer conducted a traffic stop on N. 124th St. near W. Rohr Ave. for a speed violation. The driver was cited for speeding for traveling 78 mph in a 30 MPH zone.
On March 22nd, an officer conducted a traffic stop near N. 125th St. and W. Fairmount Ave. after a registration check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was arrested for an active arrest warrant, Possession of Co***ne, Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent, and Felony Bail Jumping. The suspect has been charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court with these offenses.
On March 24th, officers responded to a physical fight in progress at a local business. Prior to arrival, one of the subjects involved left the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
On March 25th, an officer conducted a traffic stop on N. 127th St. near W. Ruby Ave. During the stop, ma*****na was observed in plain view and a vehicle search was conducted. Officers seized ma*****na, a ma*****na blunt, and a glass pipe. The driver was issued municipal citations for Possession of THC and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On March 25th, an officer conducted a traffic stop after observing an illegal U-turn at the intersection of N. 127th St. and W. Hampton Ave. During the traffic stop, the officer noticed the odor of ma*****na emanating from the vehicle, and ma*****na was observed in plain view. A vehicle search was conducted, and officers located a 9mm handgun, which had been modified with an auto sear “switch” making it a fully automatic weapon, along with 3 loaded extended magazines. The 18-year-old driver was arrested and transported to jail. He has been charged by the DA’s Office with a felony count for Possession of a Machine Gun and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
On March 26th, officers were dispatched to a local business in the 12700 block of W. Silver Spring Dr. for a report of a hit-and-run crash. The driver lost control and left the roadway, striking vehicles and equipment in the parking lot. The driver immediately fled on foot after the crash. Open intoxicants were located in the vehicle. With the help of Menomonee Falls PD and a K9 unit, officers searched the area for the driver, but were unable to locate him. The driver has been identified. He is on active probation, and new charges will be referred for Obstructing an Officer, Hit and Run, Operating After Revocation, and Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device.
On March 26th, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 5000 block of N. 126th St. for a report of a disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female involved was in violation of a bail condition for an open criminal case. She was arrested and taken to jail. Charges have been issued by the DA’s Office for Disorderly Conduct/Domestic Violence and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
