A recent find by an alumni - the original architectural drawings for Espan Lodge at Camp Chickagami.
Espan lodge would begin construction in late 1984, being designed by Warren, Oh Architect William “Bill” Marton. This building would take on a new architectural form, breaking away from the traditional building style most scout camps would use.
Espan Lodge would be built by Tapawingo Lodge of the Order of the Arrow, purposed to serve as the base of operations of the OA at Camp Chickagami, with the ribbon cutting taking place at the Section Conclave hosted by Tapawingo in 1985.
The lodge would be opened in memory of William E. Brown, a longtime scouter of the area, first scoutmaster of Troop 101 in Warren, and longtime mentor to the chair of the Lodge Building Committee Jim Potjunas.
This building still stands today, one of few original structures still standing from the camp which is now Chickagami Park.
