Today is the day everyone has been waiting for! Bring the family, bring your friends and have dinner while supporting the Burr Oak and Colon Fire Departments …..or even swing by and grab “To Go” meals. Let us take care of a great meal for dinner tonight. Cost is donation only. Bounce houses for the kids, Prizes for our May 1 raffle will be on display…..head outside and throw on some turnout gear, an air pack and grab a hose line! (Under supervision of course). Should be a fun evening with great food, we hope to see you there!

Exciting news, the BOACC is bringing back the Burr Oak King and Queen competition for this year’s Heritage Fest!

Students in the graduating classes of 2027 and 2028 from Burr Oak Community Schools who attend in-person classes are eligible to enter. Winners can ride in the Heritage Fest Parade and receive special prizes. Public voting will be available after the signup deadline of May 29th!

The Sturgis Department of Public Safety is aware that the outdoor weather siren on S. Nottawa is currently not operational due to a recent lightning strike. We are working closely with our service partner to restore functionality as soon as possible.

As a reminder, outdoor warning sirens are intended to alert individuals who are outside that severe weather is approaching. They are not designed or expected to be heard inside buildings. Please ensure you have multiple reliable methods for receiving weather alerts, such as NOAA weather radios, mobile alerts, and local media.

Attention Burr Oak Residents - Be aware the siren will sound Tomorrow, March 18 for the statewide Tornado Drill at 1pm

St. Joseph County will be participating in the Statewide Tornado Drill Wednesday March 18, 2026 at 1pm!
