Exciting news, the BOACC is bringing back the Burr Oak King and Queen competition for this year’s Heritage Fest!

Students in the graduating classes of 2027 and 2028 from Burr Oak Community Schools who attend in-person classes are eligible to enter. Winners can ride in the Heritage Fest Parade and receive special prizes. Public voting will be available after the signup deadline of May 29th!

There are many different activities around the village, from fish frys, Easter celebrations, live music, and plenty of announcements on the village bulletin in this month’s edition of the Burr Oak Acorn!

The Burr Oak Township Library is hiring!

We are looking for a Library Clerk to work Saturdays from 9 am to 12 PM and to cover days when the Director is unable to work. Tasks will include assisting patrons with library use, cleaning the library for two hours each weekend during closed hours, and other day-to-day tasks as needed. Starting pay is $13.73.

The Burr Oak Foundation wants to share with everyone that they are taking applications for their 2026 Community Scholarships. Applications are open to current seniors and past brick-and-mortar graduates of Burr Oak Community Schools, looking to advance their education.

Applications are available for pick up at the B.O.C.S. District Office or on the BOACC website

Applications are due March 31, 2026, and can be submitted by leaving a completed form at the district office, emailing [email protected], or mailing the Burr Oak Community Foundation at P.O. Box 183, in Burr Oak, Michigan.

The Missionary Church is hosting a benefit breakfast and dinner to support Scott, a village employee currently undergoing cancer treatments.

All funds raised will be used to help cover medical expenses and transportation costs for his treatments. The breakfast on January 17th from 8 am to 10 am includes eggs, breakfast casserole, pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon rolls.

Dinner will be served from 4 PM to 7 PM, and it includes sloppy joes, scalloped potatoes, baked beans, side salads, and dessert. There is no set price for food, and it is by donation.

There will be a raffle, and if you would like to donate an item for the raffle or to the medical costs, leave it at the Missionary Church or contact the BOACC @ [email protected]. Donations can also be made out to Scott and left at the Missionary Church.
