Endorsed by Vote Christos Jensen for House District 52A . Christos and I have known each other around 15 years now. Many people would say we must be twins (I am the one on the left in the picture BTW) because while I, Chris J, was serving as the Chair of the Burnsville Planning Commission, Chris(tos) J was the chair of the Eagan Planning Commission. See, we are like Twins, the resemblance is stunning...🤔

When I decided to run for City Council for the first time I was pleasantly surprised that Christos was one of the first people to send support to my campaign. Of course, now that Christos is running for State House, I am happy to extend him my support and endorsement as well.

As House District 52A extends into the eastern part of Burnsville, you may see him and I on the campaign trail together in the eastern precincts. If you do see us out there, see if you can tell us apart!

The number one thing I hear from residents while door knocking has to do with Burnsville's water quality. In certain pockets of Burnsville I repeatedly hear about an odd taste or smell in the water. Many people tell me they have a water service or a high end water filter system, but wouldn't dare drink the water that comes from their tap.

At their mid-month meeting, the Burnsville City Council will be presented with some city-wide solutions to combat this issue. If you fall in the camp of foul smelling water, this might be a meeting you'll want to pay attention to. It is on Tuesday, Sept 15, at 5:30 pm. You can live stream the meeting from the city of Burnsville website, or watch it later via YouTube (or through the website).

So for this week's what do you think question, for those who live in Burnsville and Savage. How's your water quality? And are you willing to pay a little bit more for a better glass of water?

FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY
This year has been a challenge for many Burnsville families. If I am elected in November, I will work hard to make things easier for families and loved ones. My wife, Nicole, and I raised our sons during a different time. As I’m door-knocking, time and again I hear “things are different now,” in terms of governance, cost-of-living, and an overall sense of community. I WILL WORK HARD TO ENSURE EVERY FAMILY HAS A VOICE!

LOST TRUST IN BURNSVILLE’S CITY COUNCIL
Earlier this year, our community was gripped by fear. Families described seeing ICE activity while children were arriving at and leaving school. Parents were afraid to go to work, afraid to run errands, afraid that a normal day could end with their family torn apart. Parents were taken away without warning, leaving children confused and without immediate care. Families didn't know where to turn or whom to trust. In moments like these, city leaders have a responsibility to offer reassurance, compassion, and support. Too many families felt they were left to face these challenges alone.

In January, 22 residents addressed the council, speaking not only for themselves but for thousands of Burnsville residents who were afraid to come forward. Their testimony described the very real challenges and hardships facing local families. I hoped that hearing those stories would inspire empathy and action. Instead, two council members running for the same seat that I’m running for offered little comfort and no clear commitment to address those concerns. When asked where they stood, they seemed hesitant to respond. MY RESPONSIBILITY AS A CITY LEADER EXTENDS TO EVERY RESIDENT, AND WHEN IN NEED, I WILL LISTEN!

BURNSVILLE FAMILIES ARE A PRIORITY!
If I am elected, my votes will wholeheartedly express that all families in Burnsville are a major priority for me!

Fun (FOOD) Friday!!

Living in Burnsville means never having to go far for great food!

We have Mom & Pop comfort food, fancy places for special occasions, great bars with fun activities (dancing, Bingo, pool, board games), coffee shops, international flavors from all over the world and, can’t forget: some really awesome food trucks!

So, for some “foodie fun” this Friday: share your favorites to shine a little light on these important local businesses — and for an extra boost tag them, too. EXTRA points for new establishments for us all to try out!

It’s a great way we can share the love for some of the (Burnsville) places we love to gather and eat!

It’s about more than politics.

Yesterday, while out talking with residents, someone asked me, “Why are you putting yourself through all of this?”

It made me pause.

My answer was probably longer than he expected, because the truth is, my motivation comes from years of serving on Burnsville’s advisory commissions. I genuinely enjoyed that work -every moment of it. I loved being part of shaping our community, learning how municipal systems function, and seeing firsthand the dedication of the people who make local government run.

Public service isn’t a wealth-driven profession. It’s a community-driven calling, and I’ve always found that remarkable.

That’s why I’m here. I care deeply about this place and the people who keep it moving.

I really want to do this - but I can’t do it alone. I need your help.

As things quiet down after the primaries, I’ve been reflecting on how meaningful it is to feel supported by so many people. Your vote is something I don’t take lightly.

Thursday night at Party on the Plaza was a moment I’ll carry with me. Everyone handshake, every conversation, every smile - it all reminded me why this work matters. I left feeling encouraged, grounded, and deeply grateful.

This will be my third trip to the general election in November but, this one feels different. The energy is greater and the support is stronger - it is very encouraging. I want to thank everyone who has supported me thus far from those who volunteered, donated, hosted a sign, or even just filled in the bubble next to my name. It doesn't go un-noticed. Thank you!
