As part of the Minnesota Women of Today Membership Week, our Burnsville chapter celebrated Member Appreciation Day at the chapter meeting on Monday, June 15th.

We appreciate all of our members and the diverse ideas and talents each person brings. We have planned a number of member events to take place throughout this trimester. We will be running a raffle with a ticket entered for each member event that you attend, with an extra ticket for anytime you bring a guest.

This will be your opportunity to introduce your friends to our outstanding organization.

Thank you all for being a part of the Burnsville Women of Today!

Four members and one guest volunteered to build beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

The group that night prepped materials to build a total of 40 beds! We sanded all the boards in the queue so Saturday’s team had a Headstart of six hours of work. Kids are waiting for these beds so there is a great need in the community.

Thanks to our volunteers for all their hard work, sweat, and putting up with all the dust!

Eight members and two guests embarked on a bird watching expedition this past Saturday morning.

Theresa’s daughter Ally guided us and provided a handout on common seen birds in the area. Lots of sights and sounds with two trumpeter swan sightings.

Two members were sworn in to state positions: Member Michelle as the new MNWT Chapter Management VP and member Cheryl as the new SPM for the Priority Area-REACH. We know they will be awesome in these new roles!

And here’s the rest:

• Membership: 100% retention for Tri 3 and 91% retention for the year
• SUCCESS: Tied for 3rd for Tri 3 and 4th for the year
• Marketing: Marketer of the Tri for new co-President Dorene for her worker on our Chapter Chatter newsletter
• Two Outstanding Program Managers for Tri 3: Members Kerry for Community Connections and Kathy for Priority Area
• Presidential Pin for Tri 3: Member Deb Oldenburg
• Presidential Medallions for Tri 3: 2025-26 Co-Presidents Mary and Pat

🌸Flowers, flowers everywhere.🌸

Our annual Gerten’s fundraiser order came in yesterday in time for Mother’s Day. Now don’t forget to keep them safe from our cold nights coming up.

The Ways & Means Cinco de Mayo Market raised $200 for our general fund, $100 for our scholarship fund and $100 for Wheelchair Basketball.

Extra crafts & bake sale items (value of $200) will be donated to our local food shelf for Mother’s Day gifts and pets, teachers for Teacher Appreciation week and MNWT state store for their general fund.

Thank you to all members who participated in the Gertens sale and Cinco de Mayo Market.🌸🪇
