Feeling very humbled and grateful today.

I was completely surprised to receive a Recognition of Excellence from the SWODA Board. As Director of Transportation for SORTPO, I have the privilege of working with outstanding local leaders, community partners, tribal nations, transportation providers, and stakeholders throughout Southwest Oklahoma. This recognition was unexpected and truly meaningful.

The work we do through SORTPO is built on collaboration, partnerships, and a shared commitment to improving transportation and quality of life across our region. Any accomplishments we celebrate are the result of many people working together toward a common goal.

Thank you to the SWODA Board for this incredible honor and for your continued support of regional transportation planning. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our communities and work alongside so many dedicated individuals who care deeply about the future of Southwest Oklahoma.

I look forward to continuing the important work of advancing transportation solutions and opportunities throughout the SORTPO region.

Thank you for the recognition, the partnerships, and the trust.

Two SORTPO communities receive TSET funding for healthier futures!

The To***co Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Board recently approved nearly $7 million in grants statewide to support physical activity, healthier community spaces, and youth to***co prevention.

Among the recipients were two communities in the SORTPO region:

✅ Weatherford Hospital Authority (Custer County) — $29,000 Built Environment Grant
✅ City of Hobart (Kiowa County) — $60,000 Healthy Incentive Grant

These investments will help support projects that encourage active lifestyles and improve community health for residents across western Oklahoma.

Congratulations to our regional partners for securing these resources and continuing to invest in healthier, more vibrant communities.

One size does NOT fit all when it comes to car seats!

Every child is unique, and so is every car seat. Always refer to your car seat's instruction manual to ensure the best fit for your child's weight, height and age. When in doubt, connect with a certified CPST who can walk you through it step by step. Schedule an in-person or virtual car seat check appointment: https://www.safety-connection.org/caregiver/
