🚓 The Burnettown Police Department reminds everyone that the South Carolina Hands-Free Law took effect September 1.

Six months have passed, and drivers can now be stopped and ticketed for holding or using a phone while driving.

📵 Put the phone down.

Today we proudly celebrate **National School Resource Officer (SRO) Day**! 🎉🏫👮‍♂️

The Burnettown Police Department would like to recognize and thank our dedicated SROs at Jefferson Elementary and LBC Middle School for the incredible work they do every day to keep our students and staff safe. 💙 Their role as mentors, protectors, and positive role models makes a lasting impact in our schools. 🤝✨

Keeping our kids safe is the utmost priority for our department and the Town of Burnettown. 🏡 We are also grateful to the State of South Carolina for funding our SROs through a grant program — it has been a tremendous addition to our department and community. 🙏💼

SRO Angela Craig had a blast attending the Jefferson Elementary School dance tonight! From big smiles to great moves, it was an awesome evening celebrating our students and school community.
