Our hearts are with the family of those involved

CVFD was toned for mutual aid to our partners north of us. There was great command, leadership, and early communications on this call to coordinate many departments and keep things moving smoothly. Teams were tasked with two fire threats and handled the structure fire as well as the grass/brush fire that spread out.

We had a great turn out for our community CPR class today! Thank you to those that spent your Saturday morning with us learning valuable skills during an emergency. Even had a handful of kiddos that learned how to recognize and respond to someone in need of medical assistance and get hands on with the CPR training.

FM690 appears to have water starting to cross on one of the low spots. Please be safe getting home, it only takes a few inches of water to sweep a car off the roadways.

A Flood Watch has been issued which includes the I-35 corridor, Hill Country and southern Edwards Plateau. Rain amounts generally from 1-3 inches with pockets up to 5 inches are expected which could quickly lead to flooding due to recent rainfall. There is potential for rapid, life-threatening flooding of rivers, creeks, and low-lying areas today into Wednesday morning. Have a way to receive warning information!
