This week 2 Public Meetings on Post Oak Ridge State Park transpired. The first one was in Waco, on Wednesday, June 3rd and the second one was in Burnet, on Thursday, June 4th.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are in the planning stages of Post Oak Ridge State Park, a new 3,000+ acre Texas State Park along the Colorado River in Burnet and Lampasas counties. This new park represents a unique opportunity to protect native landscapes, including river corridors, rolling terrain, and open space, while providing public access and supporting outdoor recreation for current and future generations.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is advancing the Public Use Plan by building on earlier community input to refine concept approaches for the park. The materials presented here reflect those concepts and respond to the priorities identified through previous engagement. The plan focuses on creating meaningful and sustainable opportunities for visitors to experience the park while aligning with the site’s natural conditions and the long-term vision for Post Oak Ridge State Park.

Before completing this questionnaire, please review the January 15th, 2026 and June 3, 2026 presentation in the Youtube link below for an overview of the planning approach. Your feedback will help evaluate how well this approach aligns with community priorities and inform the final phase of planning.
