Rotary Club of Burnet

Rotary Club of Burnet In more than 160 countries worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 30,000 Rotary clubs. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's business and professional men and women. The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and

open to all cultures, races, and creeds. The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. Locally, the Burnet Club of Rotary supports a large number of non-profit organizations in the Burnet Community through it's annual grant process.

Please join us in congratulating the Rotary Students of the Month for May!

Recognized seniors from Burnet High School include Maddy Cardenas, Fatima Lemus, and Callen Smith. Rotary members had the opportunity to learn more about these outstanding young people through an interview-style program, where each student shared their experiences, goals, and accomplishments.

Each student was presented with a certificate, yard sign, and scholarship in recognition of their hard work and bright futures ahead.

Congratulations to these exceptional students- we’re proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next!

A big thank you to Juston Weldon, Burnet High School Head Basketball Coach; Jayce Craig, Burnet High School Head Softball Coach; and Russell Houston, Burnet High School Head Baseball Coach, for speaking to the Rotary Club of Burnet about their programs.

It was also a treat to hear from BHS senior and softball player Journey Denton about the softball program and her experience.

We appreciate your leadership- not just in coaching, but in mentoring and supporting our young people every day. The impact you are making goes far beyond the court and field, helping shape the next generation and strengthening our community.

Thank you for investing in Burnet.
