A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of central NC for Friday from 11 AM to 8 PM. Heat indices may approach as high as 107 degrees. Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of direct sun, limit outdoor exertion, and never leave people or pets in a closed car.

Burn ban for Alamance County will be lifted, effective tomorrow morning at 08:00am.

Burn ban within 100' of a residence will also be lifted for Alamance County. Official notice to be released tomorrow morning.

Please use caution when conducting outside burning.

Please remember to obtain a burn permit as all previous permits have expired.

A couple of our staff were able to attend the "Up In Smoke" class these past 2 days to learn how to handle an arson case in court. This course gives us the vocabulary, knowledge, and tools to effectively prepare and testify for an arson trial.
