Heads up, Burlngton. Burlington Animal Services's Spay & Neuter Clinic is closed for a few weeks. Spay and Neuter surgeries will continue to be performed at the BAS Clinic at 221 Stone Quarry Rd.
🐾 Community Update: Spay & Neuter Clinic of Alamance County (SNCAC) Transition 🐾
The Spay & Neuter Clinic of Alamance County (SNCAC) is temporarily closed during June and part of July as we transition operations following Dr. Whited's retirement.
We're excited to share that Burlington Animal Services (BAS) will begin directly operating the SNCAC, with Dr. Rebecca Fikes serving as the primary veterinarian. Many of you may already know Dr. Fikes—she previously worked alongside Dr. Whited at SNCAC and has recently been caring for pets at the BAS Clinic.
Here's what to expect:
🐾 We anticipate reopening the SNCAC in mid-July, pending completion of our inspection and receipt of our clinic license from the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board.
🐾 Once reopened, the SNCAC will offer wellness and preventive care appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, including:
• Annual exams
• Vaccinations
• Diagnostic testing
• Preventive medications and services
🐾 Spay and neuter surgeries will continue to be performed at the BAS Clinic until surgeries can resume at the SNCAC.

We'll share additional information and online scheduling details for the SNCAC as soon as our license is approved and appointments become available.
Thank you for your patience and support during this transition. We're excited about this next chapter and look forward to continuing to provide affordable, accessible veterinary care for pets in our community. ❤️🐶🐱
