πŸ’œ Donation Drive: Personal Care & Gas Cards Needed πŸ’œ

Times are tough for everyone right now β€” even an overnight $0.20 jump in gas prices hits hard. At the Women's Resource Center of Alamance County, we see that impact firsthand in the lives of the clients we serve every day.

One of the ways we help is through our Success Toolkit, which provides personal care products to clients once a month, if needed β€” easing a little bit of the financial pressure so they can focus on what matters most.

We're in need of gas cards. These aren't just about getting to work β€” they help our clients reach job interviews, food pantries, and medical appointments they might otherwise have to miss.

Here's what's most needed right now:
🧴 Deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap
πŸͺ₯ Toothpaste
🧻 Toilet paper, hand sanitizer
πŸ‘Ά Diapers (especially larger sizes)
πŸŽ’ Small tote bags
β›½ Gift cards (for gas or food)
🩲 Adult incontinence supplies

Every item β€” big or small β€” makes a real difference for someone in our community.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Gloria Steinem, a trailblazing journalist, activist, and co-founder of Ms. Magazine, who passed away this week at age 92.

For more than half a century, Steinem fought for reproductive freedom, workplace equality, and an end to domestic violence β€” some of the very issues at the heart of our mission here at the Women's Resource Center of Alamance County. Her belief that "the truth will set you free, but first it will p**s you off" reminds us that discomfort is often the beginning of change.

Her work made space for organizations like ours to exist and for the women we serve every day to imagine bigger futures for themselves. We carry that legacy forward.

Rest in power, Gloria. πŸ’œ
