TRAFFIC ADVISORY: On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the Wood Street Fair will be held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please be aware there will be restricted parking, road closures, and alternate traffic patterns before, during, and after the event. All vehicles parked in posted “no parking” areas must be moved prior to the posted times.

No parking and/or road closures will be in effect on the following streets from 12:00 am to 6:00 pm:

Wood Street between W. Broad St. and Riverbank
Riverbank between Talbot St. and High St.
High Street between W. Union St. and the Riverfront (W. Pearl St. & Pearl Blvd.)
W. Union St. between High St. and Talbot St.
Pearl Blvd. between Stacy St. and High St.
W. Pearl St. between High St. and Talbot St.
Smith Alley and the adjacent parking lot bordering Wood St. and W. Union St.

We ask that you also follow all city and state parking and traffic regulations, especially avoiding parking in front of driveways, near fire hydrants, near yellow curbs, or in any way that creates public safety concerns. Public lots will remain open and accessible via High Street and Stacy Street. The River Line will also be in service, with the “Burlington Towne Center” stop conveniently located near the fairgrounds.

Tomorrow begins a new school year for the City of Burlington! Our School Resource Officers will be at every school throughout the day. To help ensure a safe start, our patrol officers will be present during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal to support the safe travel to and from school.

Reminders for a Safe School Year:

FOR DRIVERS

SLOW DOWN IN SCHOOL ZONES. Adhere strictly to the posted speed limits.

ALWAYS STOP FOR STOPPED SCHOOL BUSES. Remember, a stopped bus with flashing red lights and an extended stop arm means stop in ALL directions.

BE AWARE OF PEDESTRIANS. Be extra vigilant at crosswalks and intersections.

OBEY CROSSING GUARDS. Their presence is for everyone's safety.

DON’T BLOCK CROSSWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, OR INTERSECTIONS. Keep these areas clear for everyone.

FOLLOW DROP OFF AND PICK UP DIRECTIONS. Pull all the way forward in designated drop-off areas so traffic behind you can continue moving.

FOR STUDENTS

CROSSING STREETS: Always use designated crosswalks. Stop, look, and listen to crossing guards.

BICYCLE/SCOOTER SAFETY: Always wear a helmet and use reflective gear. Obey all traffic laws.

STAY ALERT: Put phones and other distractions away when walking, biking, or crossing streets. Pay attention to your surroundings.

FOLLOW SCHOOL RULES: Listen to school staff, crossing guards, and School Resource Officers and follow school safety rules.

Thank you to everyone who supported our helmet drive! Together we were able to provide nearly 200 helmets to the school district, with the first round handed out at last night’s amazing Boardwalk Bash. It was a great night!

Please join us in congratulating Officer Justin Zeuner and K-9 Dutch on their retirement!

Officer Zeuner began his law enforcement career in December 2004 with the Riverside Police Department before serving with the City of Beverly Police Department. He joined the City of Burlington Police Department in May 2013.

Throughout his career, Officer Zeuner was a dedicated member of the Department’s K-9 Unit. He first partnered with K-9 Tonto, who proudly served alongside him from 2015 to 2019. Together, they graduated from the Philadelphia Police Department K-9 Academy and earned their Patrol Dog 1 certification through the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Region 6.

Officer Zeuner continued his work in the K-9 Unit with K-9 Dutch. Born June 23, 2020, K-9 Dutch was surrendered to the Burlington County Animal Shelter in 2021, where his intelligence, drive, and focus quickly caught the attention of volunteers who recognized his potential as a working dog. K-9 Dutch went on to graduate from the Philadelphia K-9 Academy’s Patrol Class in December 2021 and completed Narcotics Scent Detection training in March 2022. Since then, Officer Zeuner and K-9 Dutch have worked side by side, patrolling the City and assisting with law enforcement efforts throughout Burlington County.

Congratulations to Officer Zeuner and Dutch on their well deserved retirement and thank you both for your years of dedicated service to the City of Burlington and the community. We wish you the best in retirement!

MISSING ENDANGERED PERSON

The City of Burlington Police Department is currently investigating a missing person involving an 14-year-old female who is suicidal.

England Waller was last seen at approximately 4:00 PM on August 18, 2026, at 513 High Street in Burlington City.

She was last seen wearing a black dress, black Nike socks, black crocs and her hair is in a bun.

England is considered endangered, and her safety is a concern.
