* Important Public Notice *

Recently the streets listed below suffered impactful sewer blocks. This is due to disposing of grease down toilets and/or sinks. Disposing of grease, cooking oil, fat, butter, etc. in the sewer will clog sewer pipes and cause backups into resident’s homes, possibly your own.

 Maryvale Road
 Sheighla Drive
 Phyllis Avenue
 Douglas Avenue
 Leroy Drive

Sewer blocks can also happen when disposing of wet wipes in toilets. We highly discourage disposing of wipes in the sewer system as they do not break down like toilet paper. These items should be disposed of properly by throwing them in the trash.

If you have any questions, please contact the DPW office at 781-270-1670

There is currently a water-main break in the Winnmere neighborhood. All water service south of I-95 is currently shut off. The water department is working to fix the break as quickly as possible and the workers will not leave until water is restored.

Freezing temperatures continue to cause frozen pipes around town. Some helpful hints to prevent these issues are to keep your faucets at a drip and open kitchen and bathroom cabinets with plumbing to help heat circulate around the pipes (especially pipes on exterior walls). If you do experience broken pipes due to freezing after hours, contact the police department for an emergency.
Additionally, any snow related calls this weekend can be directed to the highway division at 781-270-1677, as the main DPW line and email will not be monitored over the weekend.
