Incident 26BU012204

On June 8, 2026, a female tan dog was found near Riverside Ave and Intervale Ave in Burlington. The dog appears to be a small pug and was wearing a pink collar but had no tags and was not microchipped.

Burlington Police Department is hiring an Emergency Communications Specialist!

This position receives, records, and processes emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire and ambulance assistance, and dispatches units appropriately; responds to routine inquiries or referrals. Monitors radio traffic and operate computer systems required to complete the task; provides communications link between police/fire/ambulance response units and outside public service agencies. In addition this position acts as an internal routing unit, receiving calls from the public, other City departments, etc., and directs the call to the appropriate Police Department personnel.

Union Affiliation: American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
Pay Grade 17: $32.50 - $36.23 Hourly
Remote Tier 1: Zero (0) days remote/week

Last week, our Beach & Parks Patrol team completed their training week.⁠

Training topics included CPR certification, canine safety, defensive tactics, OC spray exposure, radio communication and 10-code review, along with meeting members of our CSO and Street Outreach teams to learn more about community-focused policing in Burlington.⁠

On May 26, 2026, a black and white pointer collie mix with spots female dog was STOLEN at 595 Shelburne Road in Burlington. From the owner's description, the dog would not bark and she is very sweet. The dog was wearing an orange collar and is microchipped.
