In Loving Memory of Eric J. Willitts
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Eric J. Willitts, a dedicated firefighter and lifelong public servant. Eric began his firefighting career at just 16 years old and proudly served as Fire Captain and Chief Engineer, as well as a Life Member of Niagara Hose Company No. 6. He also served as an EMS Rescue Squad Officer with Endeavor Emergency Squad 909 and 901. Throughout his years of service, Eric answered the call to help others, including responding to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts and assisting with the evacuation of the island following the September 11 attacks. His courage, leadership, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to the fire service and his community will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and fellow brothers and sisters in the emergency services community during this difficult time.

It’s October 2026 which means Rescue-Engine 9061 turns 30 years old. Our 1996 Seagrave has seen 30 years of frontline service. One of the oldest first out Engines in Burlington County (possibly the oldest) and she’s still the best looking. In fact she is older than most of the members riding her today. Happy 30 years to the greatest fire engine ever built.
