We had a wonderful meeting last night hearing from Alamance residents doing incredible work!
Mona Evans of Benevolence Farm spoke about her work and lived experience in honor of Second Chances month, which recognizes the importance of supporting individuals who are returning from incarceration.
Then Jenkins Michelle Lawhorn, Emma Burress, and Courtnie Carter shared about the work they are doing in the maternal health space in honor of Black Maternal Health Week, celebrated each year to promote awareness of the disparities in maternal health outcomes for Black women and birthing people. They talked all things pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding and more!
Thanks to these incredible women for these powerful discussions!
Remember - you are the village! β€οΈπͺ
