JUMP- Joint Urban Ministry Project www.jumpvt.org Today, JUMP is supported by 27 congregations in Chittenden County and is recognized as an integral part of the local social safety net.

Founded in 1988, the Joint Urban Ministry Project (JUMP) operates a drop-in center in Burlington Vermont which helps with essentials like groceries, utilities, laundry, personal care kits, transportation, and more. HISTORY
JUMP was founded in 1988 by representatives of five downtown Burlington churches who were convinced that pooling resources would improve the delivery of services to those seekin

g emergency assistance. Clients are referred to JUMP by state agencies (Department for Children and Families and Department of Corrections), other faith-based organizations (Joseph’s House, Salvation Army, and Vermont Catholic Charities), other social service agencies (HowardCenter, Chittenden Community Action, Spectrum Youth & Family Services, Women Helping Battered Women, and many others), and Vermont 2-1-1. Every Person: We respect the value and dignity of every human life, and work to make every interaction at JUMP one that is positive for all. Interfaith: As an interfaith organization, we honor the faith journey of all JUMP clients, volunteers, and staff. We value diverse spiritual perspectives and work together to maintain a strong ministry. Collaboration: JUMP collaborates with many denominations, congregations, and social service agencies to provide necessary financial and human resources. Advocacy: We understand the importance of our services to each individual while recognizing that these services are not a solution to poverty in our community. Therefore, we tell JUMP's story in our congregations and in the wider community to encourage advocacy for systemic changes.

Tucker Property Service donated several hours of yard work to our recent "Spring into JUMP" Auction. Sam Tucker, who moved his landscaping business to South Burlington in the last year, did an amazing job for one of our bidders today. Note the trailer full of brush nicely covered with a tied down tarp!

Tucker Property Service offers mowing, shrub and tree work, mulching - and winter plowing and salting for residential and business properties. The Smokey Newfield Project (SNP) offers up to three hours of live music for your party or event (other than a wedding, we are not a wedding band) at a mutually agreed upon date in late 2026 or 2027. Once the date is booked, the date will be firm, but may be rescheduled based on the band's performance schedule, so scheduling early will give the winning bidder the most options for dates. SNP requires one-hour of setup time before the event, and one hour of pack up time at the end of the event. They also require a single 15-amp, grounded electrical outlet for sound reinforcement and no less than a 10' by 10' space to set up and perform. They are willing to travel within a 2-hour radius of Burlington, VT. Unfortunately, they cannot perform in Canada due to customs and employment restrictions (maybe someday).They are willing to play outdoors (weather permitting) or indoors at a location you specify within the defined distance from Burlington. If the event will be public, SNP can help with promotion of the event via their social media outlets.

The Smokey Newfield Project burst onto the local music scene in 2013 with rich vocal harmonies, varied instrumentation and an eclectic mix of covers songs from a variety of genres including folk rock, classic rock, country, pop, traditional Irish music and anything else that tickles their musical sensibilities.
