Proudly serving San Mateo County, CA for more than 30 years. We respond to over 70,000 9-1-1 requests for service annually.

AMR is the exclusive provider of 9-1-1 Emergency Advanced Life Support ambulance services for San Mateo County, CA. Working in conjunction with our Fire and Law partners, our over 250 Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Administrative/Operations Support staff are dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of all residents and visitors of San Mateo County. We also offer No

n-Emergency Basic Life Support, and Specialty Care/Critical Care Ambulance Transportation Services throughout the region. The team at AMR has a single mission: Making a difference by caring for people in need. We are caregivers, first and foremost. As we close out Women's History Month, we'd like to take a moment to recognize the 54 women who help make AMR San Mateo strong. These women give the best of themselves to serve this community 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. Whether in the field caring for patients, in the office supporting the staff, or in deployment ensuring crews have the supplies and equipment they need, these women continue to prove that EMS is no longer a male-dominated industry. Today we are proud to celebrate our own Clinical Field Specialist, Evan Bernard, who received the California Ambulance Association’s Star of Life in Sacramento. He and the other recipients were honored on the State Assembly floor as this year’s best and brightest in field and clinical EMS operations. Way to go, Evan! We’re so proud to work alongside you!!

This afternoon, our AMR San Mateo County paramedics and EMTs joined our brothers and sisters to the north for some friendly competition - Team San Mateo vs. Team San Francisco - all for a great cause, supporting Success Centers, a Bay Area non-profit supporting marginalized community members through education, employment and the arts.

Both teams participated in the “Ballin for a Brighter Future” event showcasing teamwork, camaraderie and community spirit.

We’re proud to share that Team San Mateo took the win and are bringing home the trophy!

Today we celebrate National Dog Day with our very own GMR Therapy Dog, I.V. Mateo (pronounced "Ivy"). She's a 3-year old Sheepadoodle with a sweet and gentle personality. She loves to run and play, but she's all business when she's at work and wearing her "uniform" (her vest). One of her favorite pastimes is to just sit and hold paws with one of our EMTs, VSTs or medics. Happy National Dog Day, I.V.! We love you!!
