❤️ What a blessing today was! ❤️

We were honored to welcome the iServe Team and Cana Kids from Cana Church to the Harvest House Food Pantry.

Not only did they jump in and serve alongside our team, but they also brought joyful hearts, willing hands, and a desire to make a difference in our community.

One of the greatest parts of the day was having the opportunity to share the mission of Harvest House and the love of Christ with the next generation of servant leaders.

Thank you, Cana Church, for investing in your children, serving your community, and being a shining example of faith in action.

🎓 Congrats to the 10 graduates of Harvest House’s Getting Ahead program! 🎓

Over the past five months, these participants met weekly to examine the hidden rules of economic class, build resources for a more stable future, set personal goals, and develop strategies to overcome the challenges that keep many families trapped in poverty. Their dedication, hard work, and perseverance have been truly inspiring.

We were honored to have Texas State Representative Helen Kerwin present graduation certificates and celebrate this important milestone alongside our graduates, their families, and supporters.

This program would not be possible without the many local organizations, churches, businesses, volunteers, and community members who invest in our participants throughout the journey. Thank you for helping create opportunities for lasting change.

A special thank you to Joshua Methodist Church for generously hosting us every Thursday evening throughout the program.

At Harvest House, we know that pets are family. During difficult financial seasons, no one should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding a beloved companion.

That's why we are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Don't Forget to Feed Me.
Through their generosity and commitment to addressing pet food insecurity, they help provide pet food to families in need, allowing pets to remain where they belong—at home with the people who love them.

Together, we're helping families stay together, reducing the risk of pet surrender and abandonment, and ensuring that both people and pets receive the support they need during challenging times.

Harvest House will be closed Monday, June 8th for staff training and development.

This includes Offices, Food Pantry and the Harvest House Resale Store.

💛 A Gentle Reminder of Who We Are 💛

At Harvest House, everything we do is guided by our mission to serve others with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Whether someone visits our Food Pantry, donates to our programs, volunteers their time, or shops in our Resale Store, we want every interaction to reflect the values that have guided this ministry for more than 40 years.

As a Christian organization, we believe kindness matters. Patience matters. Treating one another with grace matters.

Our goal has always been—and will continue to be—to create an environment where people feel welcomed, valued, and respected.

Tired of feeling like one unexpected expense could throw everything off course?

Tired of working hard but still feeling stuck?

Getting Ahead is a 20-week program designed to help participants build resources, set goals, and create a plan for a more stable future. Through guided discussions and practical tools, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the challenges you face and discover new pathways forward.

Applications are now being accepted for our next class beginning July 9.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Susan 🌟

This month, we're proud to recognize Susan! 💛

For the past 2.5 years, Susan has faithfully served behind the scenes at Harvest House Resale Store, sorting donations and helping prepare items for the sales floor.

What started as a visit from a thrift store shopper quickly became a place she now considers family.

Susan shares that volunteering has given her purpose, structure, and the opportunity to use her God-given gifts of time, energy, and organization to serve others. She believes that while her role may be behind the scenes, it helps support Harvest House's mission of serving families in need throughout our community.

One of her favorite parts of volunteering is the people she works alongside each day. Through her service, she has learned to trust that God works in mysterious ways and that He will provide exactly what is needed.

Her advice to anyone considering volunteering:

"If you want to do something that feels good and benefits your community, this is a great place to do it."
