We’d love to see you at the Lorton Library on Tuesday, September 8th (6:30–7:30 p.m.) for an inspiring evening of local history! Elizabeth Reese, Senior Manager of Public Programs and Interpretation, will be sharing the details of Woodlawn’s newest exhibit, "Friends Gather Here: A Legacy of Two Communities at Woodlawn." She’ll discuss the Quaker families who settled in the area in the mid-19th century and the established free Black community they joined. Together, they demonstrated the power of equality and free labor in a time of deep national division. Come learn how this history continues to shape our community identity today.
