Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) confirmed the first human case of West Nile Virus in Illinois for 2026 in Piatt County this week. They also report 3 additional probable cases in Northern Illinois. These steps can help protect you and your loved ones from infections like West Nile Virus that spread from mosquitos to people. Food Recall Alert.
City Foods, Inc., a Chicago, Ill., establishment, is recalling approximately 3,215 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pastrami and corned beef products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. Consumers and institutions who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
