Since 2008, the John Burroughs High School Dramatic Association has made incredible strides in expanding its theatre program. The number of classes has doubled, student enrollment is at an all time high, and the audience turnout at shows continues to grow. Under the direction of Mr. Guy Myers, JBHS Drama produces three mainstage productions a year, two scene showcases in its new classroom blackbox

theatre, and competes in drama festivals and competitions through the California Educational Theatre Association and the Drama Teachers Association of Southern California. Additionally, JBHS Drama is proud to have started successful collaborations with many of the other departments on campus. We have produced a yearly musical with the Instrumental Music Association and the Vocal Music Association to fantastic results, we have involved woodshop in the construction of sets and set design, we have utilized students in our photography classes to take headshots of our performers, we have used student choreographers from our dance department, and of course we have worked hand in hand with the students in our tech theatre classes to create polished and professional productions.
