Our very own, beloved, Mrs. Addys Gonzalez was honored at the Board of Education meeting as the district’s Classified Employee of the Year. Below is her message of appreciation.
“I am truly honored and grateful to be recognized as the Classified Employee of the Year for Burbank Unified School District. I sincerely thank everyone who nominated and supported me.
Working as an Office Manager at Walt Disney Elementary School has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Every day, I have the opportunity to support our students, families, teachers, and staff, and I take great pride in being someone people can count on.
As a parent whose own children attended Burbank schools, this district has always meant so much to me personally. Growing up, I did not have much parental involvement in my education, so when I became a parent myself, I wanted to be fully involved in my children’s school experience. That passion eventually led me to a career in education, where I could help create a welcoming and supportive environment for all families and students.
This recognition is not just mine. It belongs to the incredible staff I work alongside every day. Schools only succeed when people work together with compassion, patience, and teamwork, and I am lucky to be part of such an amazing school community.
Thank you again to Burbank Unified School District for this incredible honor. I am truly grateful and proud to serve this district and our students every day.”
