🚧 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE | MONDAY, AUGUST 17 🚧

Tyler Street between FM 2493 and S. Phillips Street will be temporarily closed on Monday, August 17, from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for scheduled roadway work.

Please use an alternate route during this time and allow for extra travel time in the area.

The work is scheduled to be completed before afternoon school traffic. Thank you for your patience as crews complete these necessary improvements!

BACK TO SCHOOL TOMORROW!

School is back in session tomorrow morning, and the Bullard Police Department would like to remind everyone to help us keep our students safe as they head back to class!

Plan ahead and allow extra time for heavier-than-normal morning traffic.

Slow down and use extra caution in school zones and around campuses.

Put the phone down! Please stay focused and avoid using your cellphone while driving through school zones.

STOP for school buses! Never pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing and stop sign is extended while loading or unloading students.

Tomorrow morning will bring excited students, busy parents, school buses, new drivers, and a whole lot more traffic than we’ve been used to this summer. A little patience and extra attention can go a long way toward making sure everyone gets where they’re going safely.

The Bullard Police Department wishes all Bullard ISD and Brook Hill students, teachers, faculty, and staff a safe, successful, and GREAT school year!

Drive safe. Stay alert. Watch for our kids.

The City of Bullard would like to make residents aware that the City has not issued a solicitors permit to Romex Pest Control.

Residents are encouraged to use caution when interacting with door-to-door solicitors and may request to see a valid city-issued permit before conducting business.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE 🚧

***Permanent Closure of Sanders St at FM 2493***

Please be advised that Sanders Street no longer connects to FM 2493. The intersection has been permanently closed and there is no access to or from FM 2493 at that location.

Residents and visitors needing to access Sanders Street should now use East Tyler Street. Simply turn onto East Tyler Street from FM 2493, then follow the road to Sanders Street, as shown on the map below.

Please use the updated route and plan your travel accordingly.

It was an honor to train alongside our partnering law enforcement, fire, EMS, and first responder agencies today during a full-scale active shooter exercise.

While we all hope we never have to respond to an incident like this, hope is not a strategy. Readiness is built through preparation, communication, and realistic training. Exercises like these strengthen our ability to work seamlessly together under the most challenging circumstances, ensuring that if the unthinkable happens, we are ready to protect and serve our communities.

“Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.” Every hour spent training today is an investment in the safety of our schools, our children, and our community.

A sincere thank you to every agency, instructor, role player, and volunteer who dedicated their time to making this exercise a success. We are stronger together, and we are committed to continually training, learning, and improving so we are ready when our community needs us most.

Today, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Bullard ISD Police Department, in partnership with local law enforcement and first responder agencies, will be conducting an Active Shooter Safety Exercise at Bullard Middle and High School.

We appreciate your understanding as our agencies work together to train, prepare, and ensure the highest level of safety for our students, staff, and community.

Bullard Through the Years

This photograph captures the St. Louis Southwestern (Cotton Belt) Depot in downtown Bullard in 1952. At the time, the depot welcomed travelers, connected families, and served as the heart of activity in our growing community.

Much has changed since this photo was taken. The trains no longer stop here, businesses have come and gone, roads have been rebuilt, and generations of families have proudly called Bullard home. Yet one thing has remained constant—the people who make this community so special.

Today, our downtown is changing once again. With construction underway, traffic delays and detours can be frustrating, but photos like this remind us that Bullard has never stood still. Every generation has witnessed change, and each has helped shape the town we know and love today. Progress has always been part of Bullard's story while preserving the small-town values that define who we are.

A big Bullard PD shout-out to Sgt. Mitchell!

We recently received this message and picture from a community member, and it perfectly reflects the kind of service our officers strive to provide each day:

"Our daughter and grandkids were visiting this week when our grandson flew his new drone over the fence. Special thanks to Sgt. Mitchell for stopping by and offering assistance. He came back later in the evening to let the kids see his patrol vehicle. Prayers for all of our LE officers who serve and protect our community. "

Sgt. Mitchell didn't just help retrieve a drone, he took the time to create a positive memory for a family. It's these small moments of kindness and connection that help build strong relationships between our officers and the community we are honored to serve.
