Well folks...it looks like I came up about 50 votes short. I’m glad it’s over and just wanted to say thank you to all the people that supported me and my family. You are awesome! I also want to say thank you to everyone that took the time to vote for me. I did my best and fought the good fight! I pray that Bullard ISD continues to strive for greatness and provides my two kids with the best education possible.

Well...only 4 more hours until the polls close. Last reminder that every vote counts more than ever! Please make sure your family and friends have voted. Voter turnout will decide this election.

On a different note, it’s been a special day having my wife and kids join me outside Bullard Southern Baptist Church. My little ones always enjoy having fun helping their dad campaign! It’s become a family event.

Thank you again to all those that have worked the phones and continue to help us. You have shown my family why we love Bullard and Bullard ISD.

I am a family man born and raised in East Texas. I am a fiscal conservative who won’t waste taxpayers money! I have 2 kids currently attending the Intermediate School and I am 100% invested in doing what’s Best For ALL of Bullard! Join me tomorrow and let’s win this race together!

Hey Bullard...just a last minute reminder that tomorrow is your last day to vote! I will be at the Southern Baptist Church and would love to visit with anybody that has questions.

I thought I would share a story that highlights the voting differences between me and my opponent. On August 12, 2019 your school board voted 5-1 to hire an attorney to investigate our Award Winning FFA Program. Attached are the meeting minutes from the BISD website. My opponent even made the motion and voted YES! I voted NO and Jason Campbell joined me. What was this vote? Well.....if you ask anybody with kids in FFA, Friends of FFA, FFA Teachers, or FFA Directors.....they sure remember! Your board took matters into their own hands and launched an investigation on our FFA program and the citizens of Bullard. They hired their own attorney which ended up costing MANY thousands of dollars in taxpayer money. Countless Bullard residents were forced to sit through interrogations with an attorney hired with taxpayer money just to investigate town gossip! Guess what the attorney found after all that....absolutely NOTHING WRONG!! As a former board member, I can’t share all of the details. The board has no right to go on their own and launch an investigation on any of our BISD programs. That’s the principals and the superintendent’s job to handle. They are the certified education officials responsible for dealing with grievances. SO…I ask you… what program could be next on my opponent’s list of investigations? Baseball, Choir, Volleyball, Band, Football....who knows???

Obviously, I am totally against these investigations or any attack on BISD groups, staff, teachers, principals or our Superintendent Jack Lee. Board members primary job is to support ALL staff and not to waste taxpayer money hiring attorneys to investigate town gossip! Let's get the school board working together as a team again and help ALL our kids!

Join me and make sure your voice is heard! Voting tomorrow is 7am to 7pm. Please also make sure you contact your friends and family to remind them to vote. I need your help and Bullard ISD needs your help! Please feel free to share with your family and friends.

I just thought I would share these golden rules that board members are required to follow. As a trained former BISD board member you can count on me to follow all these guidelines. If you have attended board meetings in the past...you may have heard me speak about violations to board policy. The reason is simple. If board members can’t stay out of the way of our professional educators and follow the rules, then they become part of the problem and it hurts our kids. Please join me in an effort to keep our school board focused on the direction of BISD instead inserting itself into the day to day operations. Thats our superintendents job and he doesn’t need board members getting involved.

Hopefully we can all be more aware of what our school board members should and should NOT be involved in.

Today my mom went to vote for me just 4 days after breaking her hip and having emergency surgery. Those 3 big screws they drilled in her bones didn’t slow her down! Thank you to the election officials who kindly met her at the car so she could vote. I just wanted to say thanks to these two for raising me to always stand up and do what’s right, never quit and fight the good fight!

My mom was an English teacher for 25 years and my dad served on the school board for 20+ years ...both in Gilmer Texas. Education has always been important to my family and school board elections have a direct impact on our kids educational experience. I have 2 young kids currently in Bullard ISD and I want them to have a bright future. You can count on me to be your voice on the board because I can relate to what you are going through as BISD parents. It’s hard to fully understand what’s going on at school if you no longer have kids attending BISD!

Tomorrow is the last day of early voting! Please make sure your voice is heard! If my mom can do it , we all can. Do what’s Best for ALL of Bullard and Vote Bishop Place 4.

I want to say thanks again to all the wonderful Bullard residents who have helped with this campaign. We have a wonderful community and my family has felt your love and support over the last couple of months. If elected...you can count on me to represent ALL of Bullard and work to unite our community in doing what’s best for ALL our kids!

Great questions from a Bullard resident with my response........

“How will you convince voters that you’ll be able to work with Brian Vestal? The question is due to your post from last year talking about you and him canceling each others votes.”

My answer...... “Thanks for the question. So, I have known Brian Vestal for many years. He and I were very close my first year on the board and we have kids the same age. We have always worked together just fine on the board and if elected we will continue to be professional towards each other. I know he cares about the kids and I know we have different opinions but we will continue to work together as a team. Remember, it takes 7 board members from different backgrounds to properly represent our community. Also, last year was a very difficult year in the board room and I was ready for a break. I had grown tired of the constant micromanaging of BISD staff and the negative atmosphere where BISD staff were being targeted. I knew by running against Brian in his place that I would either continue to be on the board or I would get that break that I really wanted. I put it in Gods hands! Losing that election was fine by me and worked out great because I was able to finish several very large custom homes I was building and spend more time with my family. I prayed hard before deciding to run again for school board because it's a difficult job. It's difficult on the board member and it can be a challenge for the whole family. I got my answer the day before the deadline to turn in my paperwork back in February. Out of nowhere....I received +12 phone calls, +15 text messages and +4 direct messages on Facebook encouraging me to run. I am a man of faith and I could tell that was my answer....run! Bullard needs strong leadership and positive energy to keep BISD on the right path to the future. Sorry for the long response, but you asked a very good question. Thanks for your interest Diana!”

I just wanted to share my thought process for anyone that may have questions. Thanks to everyone that voted for me this week! Early Voting continues next Monday and Tuesday, then the last day to vote is May 1st.
