Today we celebrate Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to give a huge thank you to our District Clerk, Tawny Cooper.

Tawny is the backbone of the Buhl Fire Protection District. From keeping our operations running smoothly to supporting our firefighters and leadership, her dedication, organization, and attention to detail do not go unnoticed. She handles countless responsibilities behind the scenes that make a big difference in how we serve our community every day.

We are grateful for her hard work, professionalism, and positive attitude. Thank you, Tawny, for everything you do for our department and the community we proudly serve.

We want to stop and give a huge shout out to Rangen's who came in and gave the District a generous donation of $5,000. We plan on using these funds for equipment and personal protective equipment for our firefighters. Thank you for your support Rangens!

A little history on Buhl Fire... Gladly!
10 years ago Andrew Stevens became the Chief of Buhl Fire, his first move was to hire Jayson Wheeler. Now we are celebrating a decade of having a great Chief and a grade A Firefighter! Chief Stevens and Lt. Wheeler, thanks for hanging on tight and protecting this community for 10 years!!

There is an upcoming change to Buhl Fire. We will now be charging a plans review fee for new construction. This is a common fee that the rest of the county has been doing for some time. This change will be implemented on April 1, 2026. Thank you for your continued support.

Buhl Fire had our annual Christmas party last night and it was such an honor to celebrate these amazing men and women. Joey Pehrson won firefighter of the year, Dan Bartlett and Jayson Wheeler won EMT of the year. Jace Regehr and Lucas Koehn won the grit award and Lucas was also promoted to lieutenant. We are so lucky to have all of the full time and volunteer staff that we do, they make our community better and are always striving to be the best firefighters / emts they can be. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to see what emerges in 2026!

The Buhl Fire District responded this morning to an industrial structure fire involving a grain tower/ mill.The building was constructed of a combination of masonry, steel, and heavy timber, creating complex fire conditions. The fire was located in a difficult-to-access area in a basement and crawl space. Extremely limited visibility due to smoke and tight areas. This made operations challenging.

This incident would have tested any fire department, and we are proud to report that crews were able to successfully contain the fire with no injuries.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the Filer Fire Department for their prompt response and mutual aid assistance. Strong partnerships and teamwork are critical during incidents like this, and we appreciate their support.

Thank you to our on duty crew and the volunteer firefighters that we rely so heavily and mutual aid partners for their professionalism and dedication to keeping our community safe. Crews were tied up on incident from 8 AM until later in the afternoon.
