Houghton Academy, PS 69, proudly concluded its Distinguished Speaker Series today with a special visit from Canisuis University President Dr. Steve K. Stoute, who addressed students in Grades 6–8.
Under the leadership of Principal Garcia and through the collaborative efforts of Ms Jennifer Strickland and New York State Regent Keith Wiley, the Distinguished Speaker Series has provided students with meaningful opportunities to engage with influential African American leaders from the fields of education, fine arts, the judicial system, and local government. These experiences are intentionally designed to connect classroom learning with real-world leadership, achievement, and service.
BPS and all of the Houghton Lions thank Dr. Stoute for sharing his time, insights, and leadership with our students. PS 69 is also grateful to Canisius University for their continued partnership in creating transformative experiences for the young people we serve.
