As ICE and DHS continue their overreach, our communities are at a breaking point. Even now, detainees inside Delaney Hall in New Jersey are on a hunger strike protesting horrific conditions, as families are separated nationwide, including here in WNY.

Despite this darkness, community groups and advocates like NYIC Action continue to support our neighbors locally. I am honored to have their endorsement as a candidate who will defend and advocate for immigrants in our state.

THE PROBLEM: Tenants in Buffalo, Lackawanna, and Hamburg are at their limit, sometimes even choosing between paying for groceries or rent. Even worse, bad landlords neglect their tenants, or try forcing out families experiencing hardships, all to line their own pockets. Plus, too many politicians side with developers and landlords—a political choice that hurts working families.

THE SOLUTION? Simple: A just transition to housing as a RIGHT, not a commodity.

We need the REST Act for rent stabilization, social housing that meets and exceeds the needs of residents, and Good Cause Eviction statewide (not as an “opt-in” program, like it is now).

New York Future has spent nearly $300K (so far) to stop us. They’re a billionaire-funded Super PAC funded by online gambling companies, backing corporate candidates who WON’T hold them accountable.

My opponent has yet to denounce dark money trying to tip the scales for her. If she’s accepting help from shady, corporate Super PACs, how will she stand up to corporations and corruption in Albany?

The billionaires are scared that a champion for the working class will win this race. I’ll tax them and THEN some, by writing new legislation that STOPS dark money from influencing state elections.
