This morning, I joined students, faculty, first responders, colleagues and members of the St. John the Baptist School community in Kenmore for a prayer service marking the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

We will always remember the lives lost, honor the first responders who answered the call and reflect on the courage, sacrifice and unity shown that day and in the years that followed.

Thank you to St. John the Baptist School & Alumni for bringing our community together in remembrance.

It was an honor to welcome the national tour of Buena Vista Social Club to Shea's Performing Arts Center and Erie County, where I proudly proclaimed September 12–19, 2026, Buena Vista Musical Week in Erie County! 🎶

Today, I was honored to join Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and community partners to break ground on the expansion of the Roswell Park Broadview Community Outreach and Engagement Center in Buffalo’s Fruit Belt.

Since opening in 2023, the center has become an important community resource and this new space will expand access to cancer education, prevention, screenings, patient navigation and other critical services that help reduce health disparities.

I want to thank Roswell Park President and CEO Dr. Candace Johnson, Board Chair Leecia Eve, Esq., the Roswell Park Board of Directors, the amazing staff and entire Roswell Park team, Broadview Federal Credit Union, Senator April N.M. Baskin, Assembly Majority Leader Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes, NYS Assemblywoman, Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and everyone whose partnership made this important investment possible for the community.

A pioneering nurse, educator, author and women’s health advocate, Dr. Collins has turned her love of teapots into opportunities to bring people together and support women’s health education. 💜
