US imperialists continue to spout lies about Cuba, the Cuban people, and those who stand in solidarity with them. They use these lies as pretext to implement their own violent invasions and harmful blockades. The capitalist lies will not be allowed to stand without opposition.
Hear the truth about Cuba from someone who's been there! Come to the report back by Workers World Party's delegate on the Venceremos Brigade!

In coordination with the Buffalo Anti-War Coalition, we will be hosting a Cookout for Cuba on July 12th at 3pm at 1412 Jefferson Ave home of the Justice for Geraldine and Martin Campaign. We will be raising money for the Venceremos Brigade to bring two charter planes of material aid to Cuba in August, and we will be collecting donation items for a Buffalo comrade to take on the brigade.
Food and drinks will be provided. There is a suggested donation of $15; please either bring cash or plan to donate here: http://bit.ly/Aid4COF.
If you use the campaign link, do not leave any note in the payment link: mentions of Cuba in payments have led to frozen accounts.
Among other things, we are looking for food and office supplies as aid donations. A full list can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jrrFLIzAgEGRzOG3hj5focfJCBNQRyL8X4wqIXrgGbQ/edit?gid=1662535886 =1662535886
Hope to see you there!

Public Statement: Workers World Party - Buffalo 5.24.2026

Workers World Party - Buffalo has learned that Buffalo police have shot another of our Black siblings on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026. Local news coverage describes the person in question as having been in the middle of a mental health emergency. WWP-Buffalo condemns this violent act and all the systemic racism and ableism leading up to it.

Our Black, Brown, and Indigenous siblings have faced the colonial (and later, imperial) violence of the founders of this settler-state since before its founding. This country was built on land stolen from our Indigenous siblings and with labor stolen from our Afro-descended siblings.

Make no mistake, the current order of police and federal agents (e.g. ICE, Border Patrol, FBI, DEA, etc) serve at the behest of the capitalist ruling class: the big landlords, bosses, bureaucrats, and stock brokers. And these systems here are descended from "slave catchers", strike breakers, and colonial militias. Every act of white supremacy, cis-hetero-patriarchy, ableism, or other facet of oppression is in service of the ruling class to keep us -- the workers -- "in line".

Furthermore, we live in a country with the largest prison population and where a disproportionate percentage of those incarcerated are working-class People of Color. Due to the 13th Amendment, a significant number of our incarcerated siblings are held for petty reasons and forced to labor for pennies a day -- if they are paid at all. This generates billions in wealth for the capitalist ruling class.

We call for JUSTICE for all the workers and oppressed, but on this day especially for our Black and Latine siblings who are treated as "subhuman" by this rotten system. We call for the abolition of the system of policing and other forms of state, local, and federal terrorism against our nationally oppressed siblings. We call for the expansion of health services of every type -- especially health services which are sensitive to and respectful of many different demographics of people. Finally, we call for an end to this capitalist, imperialist, settler-colony, and for the building of socialism -- which necessarily -- includes reparations to our nationally oppressed siblings.

In keeping with the theme of celebrating workers, we will be holding a film screening of The Salt of the Earth (1954) this upcoming Tues 5/5 at 6pm at 335 Richmond Ave.
This film was banned during the Red Scare because of its strong pro-worker takes and because some of the cast and crew were socialists. The director was part of the Hollywood 10 and the lead actress was chased out of the country by fascists.
We live in a time when Latine (and other migrant) laborers are under attack by capitalist and colonial policing forces like ICE -- making organizing efforts for these nationally oppressed siblings extremely difficult. We also live in a time where anti-socialist/anti-communist legislation and practices are heating back up.
Despite this, we hope this film reminds our audience that workers make everything run, and that class is primary but nationality is not secondary.

Reminder: this meeting is tomorrow night!

Climate change is an existential threat that impacts everyone. Environmental degradation and destruction similarly impacts everyone. These things do not impact everyone equally, working class communities of Color in the Global North, and those living in the Global South are hit hardest. Join us TOMORROW to find out why that is and what we can do about it!
