The Erie County Sheriff's Office would accomplish nothing without the dedicated service of its nearly 1,300 employees. They and the thousands who came before them over the last 205 years have put time and effort into their craft for one reason: to keep you and your family safe. Sheriff Garcia wishes them and the rest of Erie County's workforce a very Happy Labor Day!

BROTHER AND SISTER CHARGED AFTER NARCOTICS AND INTELLIGENCE UNIT SEIZES CO***NE AND ILLEGAL WEAPON

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrests of Arthur Love, 39 of Amherst, and his sister, Lindsay Naedele-Maroney, 40 of Buffalo, after an investigation by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit with assistance from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Buffalo Police Department, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and Erie Crime Analysis Center.

At 7:35 p.m. on September 3, SWAT personnel executed a search warrant signed by Hon. Kenneth Case of Erie County Court for a business located at 3100 Main Street in Buffalo, Love’s person, Naedele-Maroney’s person, and any vehicle operated by Love. Approximately one kilo of co***ne, an illegally possessed Ta**us 9mm handgun, an illegal ammunition feeding device, drug paraphernalia, U.S. currency, and cell phones were seized. Love was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop. Naedele-Maroney was taken into custody without incident inside the business. Both defendants were charged with:

• 1st degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
• 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
• 2nd degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon
• 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon
• 2nd degree Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia (3 counts)

The defendants were transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.

“Our experience tells us that illegal drug sales are fueled by pure greed,” said Sheriff Garcia. “Combine that with an illegal weapon, and you have a danger to the community. We work with our law enforcement partners to take illegal narcotics and illegal weapons off the streets to make them safer. We will be relentless in our pursuit of individuals like Mr. Love and Ms. Naedele-Maroney.”
