These popular courses draw golfers daily in spring, summer, and fall, and attract winter sports enthusiasts in the off-season -- making them fantastic spots to showcase your food and beverage offerings! 🌭☕

Welcome back to week 20 of Tree Talk Tuesday with Willow and Oakley! On today's podcast episode, Willow and Oakley discuss:
• Erie County's Fall Fest is on Saturday, September 26th from 10 AM to 4 PM at Como Lake Park in Lancaster.
• There will be many activities, vendors and non-profit organizations for people of all ages
• Visit the Department of Environment & Planning table to learn more about the tree grant
• Enter the park through Bowen Road, but because of the limited parking, there are many options to take to get there such as a free shuttle from the William Street school and the NFTA Parks Adventure Bus

Erie County Parks implemented a No/Low Mow and Natural Regeneration Area Program in 2022, in accordance with best practices in public parks across the country. This Program accomplishes several goals:

1. Reduces carbon footprint by reducing use of mowers, trimmers, and other maintenance equipment;
2. Encourages habitat growth by allowing grassland and meadow habitats to grow;
3. Saves time and money by reducing the time and equipment used to mow areas not utilized for recreation and other needs.

To date, the No/Low Mow Program has proven successful in meeting all of its goals, and has been credited with encouraging the return of certain grassland/meadow species such as the Bobolink! Learn more about the Bobolink!

Did you know there’s a cricket pitch at Ellicott Creek Park? 🏏

One of our partner organizations, the India Association of Buffalo, has built a strong and vibrant cricket program there over the past nine years.

Last weekend, the IAB hosted the Champions Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament, and it was incredible to see so many talented players and enthusiastic spectators filling the park. The energy, teamwork, and community spirit were truly inspiring!

We’re proud to support spaces and partnerships that bring diverse recreation opportunities to Erie County.

A few more days of beach season! 🏖️

Erie County's FREE public beach -- Bennett Beach, located at 8276 Lake Shore Rd in Angola, is open through Labor Day.

The water is open for swimming 12:00-7:00 PM only when water testing indicates that the water is safe. Visit https://www3.erie.gov/parks/ for daily updates on swimming status.
