🚨 ACTIVE INCIDENT 🚨

I-72 Eastbound approximately at the 115.5mm

At approximately 0430 this morning your Buffalo and Dawson Fire Departments were paged to a vehicle fire on I-72. Buffalo crews arrived on scene shortly after the page to find a Carle Ambulance disabled in the fast lane after striking a deer. No flames or smoke showing when then first unit arrived. All occupants were unharmed in the incident. As of right now, I-72 eastbound lanes are down to one lane. Please use caution as there are still fire personel on scene!!

Buffalo Fire and Dawson Fire have cleared the scene. Main St. from Charles St. to McManus St. remains closed, with Ameren still out working. Please use caution in this area.

*ACTIVE INCIDENT*

Please beware, a natural gas line was hit by the fiber workers on Main St., Main St. in Buffalo is closed down from 36 to McManus St. Ameren is on the way to stop the leak. Buffalo Fire and Dawson Fire Protection District are on scene now. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to get the road back open soon!

Today, we honor and celebrate all the amazing mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures in our community and to the ones who answer the calls to help in a time of need, whether it be Fire, EMS, Law enforcment, or Telecommunications. Thank you for your endless love, strength, sacrifice, and support each and every day.

Today is Captain Rehwalds birthday today!!! If you see her around today make sure to wish her a happy birthday!!

Captain Rehwald has been with the BFPD for 4 years now, and in those 4 years she has obtained an EMR ( emergency medical responder) license and just in the past year has obtained her EMT license. Within this past year of obtaining her EMT she has shown how much knowledge she had obtained from the class and puts what she learned to use for our community! She has also obtained the rank of Captain within the past several months! Captain Rehwald is not only a big asset to our department on the medical side of things, she is also the one that 99% of the time makes the posts for our page! But when it comes to any type of fire she is always the first one ready to get to work! Captain Rehwald came to Buffalo Fire in January of 2022 as someone with no experience in any aspect other than being someone who helps people of the community, with alot of hard training and some good mentors in all different roles of the fire and ems service Captain Rehwald has learned alot in her 4 years but is always learning new things from each training. This message is way overdue for this amazing Captain. So once again HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAPTAIN REHWALD!!! Congratulations on making the rank of Captain here at Buffalo Fire!!
