Come and Celebrate! 📣 National Family Day at Explore & More Children's Museum, hosted by The Prevention Council of Erie County - Friday, September 25, 5:00-8:00pm

Cost: $5.00 per person includes: a spaghetti dinner, activities, and access throughout the museum. Tickets are available at: https://thepreventioncouncilec.org/training-events

Why This Event Matters for Erie County:

* According to the most recent Erie County Community Health Assessment, nearly one in four high school students reported using alcohol in the past 30 days.

* 10% reported using ma*****na before age 13, and early initiation of substance use remains a strong predictor of later misuse.
Programs that focus on delaying the age of first use are proven to reduce the risk of developing substance use disorders later in life.

* Family engagement and open communication are among the strongest protective factors against youth engaging in high-risk behaviors including substance use.

Research consistently shows that when families intentionally spend time together sharing meals, talking, playing, and connecting, children are significantly less likely to engage in risky behaviors including substance use. Family Day highlights these everyday moments that protect youth and strengthen communities.
