This week, the University at Buffalo Police Department is proud to host a Bike Patrol Training School, welcoming 32 law enforcement officers from agencies across the region.

From traffic enforcement and community policing to special events and rapid response, bicycle officers play a vital role in keeping our communities safe. So the next time you see your local police officer patrolling on a bike, there’s a good chance they received their training right here at the University at Buffalo.

We are honored to help equip officers with the skills they need to serve their communities safely and effectively. Together we rise at UB! 💙🤍

Just another day on bike patrol… and proof that you never know who you’re going to run into on campus.

Officer Zulawski had a surprise encounter with none other than Sabretooth from the Buffalo Sabres! What started as a routine patrol quickly turned into a fun photo op, a few laughs, and a reminder that campus life always keeps things interesting.

No tickets were issued… just high-fives and maybe a few suspicious paw prints left behind.

Stay safe out there—especially if you see something furry, fast, and repping blue and gold! 💙💛

Last night, Deputy Chief Gates was awarded for his career service in law enforcement by the Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation.
