In observance of Juneteenth, Vernon Township’s administrative offices are closed today, Friday, June 19, as we join in recognizing this important day in American history that commemorates the end of slavery. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, June 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please note that while Township offices are closed today, Summer Camp will still operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the pool will remain open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The wait is over - the William E. Peterson Park Pool is officially open! Thank you for your patience and understanding during the delays due to construction and the unpredictable weather. To compensate for the shortened season, pool passes are now 20% off for the remainder of the summer. Summer road work is coming! Starting in July, the Township Highway Department will begin resurfacing Pope Boulevard and all Township-maintained roads north of Pope in the Horatio Gardens subdivision. We will also replace deteriorated asphalt and damaged culverts to improve drainage. We expect to wrap up around the July 4 holiday. Please use caution in construction zones and allow extra travel time. Thanks for your patience as we improve our roads!

Parents should check Google Classrooms for more information and to get counselor assignments - you can meet the counselors on Monday morning at the start of camp.

Due to severe storms forecasted over the next few days, Vernon Township’s 3rd annual VTPalooza, originally scheduled for Thursday, June 11, has been postponed out of caution for public safety. Camp orientation will continue as planned, but will be moved indoors if necessary. The Township is currently working to identify a date to reschedule the event, and will share that information in the coming days.

Vernon Township Supervisor Tim Kobler joined community members who donated at the Township’s May 14 Blood Drive, held in partnership with State Representative Daniel Didech. The drive had a total of 29 donors, including one first-time donor, who together will help to save lives. Those interested in making a difference are encouraged to participate in the next blood drive on Thursday, July 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Service Building, 2900 N. We need your help! Please remember that the dumpsters at the Vernon Township Pool construction site are ONLY for construction materials related to the renovation. Unfortunately, unauthorized dumping of personal waste has filled them up, causing delays for our crews.
